Technology

Medical literature attests that up to 70 % of people have a tendency for the feet to roll inwardly, which health professionals refer to as pronation. Typically, a person who over pronates will initially contact on the outer edge of the foot, and thereafter the foot will roll inwardly towards the medial arch. This rollover will affect foot posture and body alignment when standing, walking or running. In severe cases, it may cause discomfort for the ankle, knee, hip and back. In PedaHeel we are working with podiatrists to incorporate the principles of prescription functional orthoses into the midsole design in order to control and minimize excessive foot pronation. Though not individually customized, Pedaheel sandals are designed to suit a majority of people with minor foot pronation problems.

Mid sole

All PedaHeel mid soles are designed with advanced 3D modelling technology, and individually crafted making sure the arch geometry of each model in the range is properly designed for ideal weight bearing foot contact during gait.

Upper

Our upper is designed to provide maximum comfort and reduce irritation, whilst encouraging firm contact between the foot and the orthotic midsole, providing maximum correction whilst walking.

Shock Absorption

Our mid and outsole are made of advanced materials optimized to absorb heel strike and loading forces in the forefoot. Absorption of ground shock helps to reduce the risk of injury, protecting the joints and bones of the foot.
